Each nation has created a god, and the god has always resembled his creators.
He hated and loved what they hated and loved, and he was invariably found on the side of those in power.
Each god was intensely patriotic, and detested all nations but his own.
All these gods demanded praise, flattery, and worship. Most of them were pleased with sacrifice, and the smell of innocent blood has ever been considered a divine perfume.
All these gods have insisted upon having a vast number of priests, and the priests have always insisted upon being supported by the people, and the principal business of these priests has been to boast about their god, and to insist that he could easily vanquish all the other gods put together.
in every religion the priest insists on five things
First: There is a God.
Second: He has made known his will.
Third: He has selected me to explain this message.
Fourth: We will now take up a collection
Fifth: to fail is to be damned.

I think you've already gotten the best points above to add up into your very cleverly intelligent mind. Religion is keeping it organized as it regulates a form of group in spirituality, So as 'YES' it requires one to follow through within its set beliefs and principles. It may call for a duty to abide the rules of a certain organization or formed group, whereas Spirituality is much more free and uninhibited in beliefs and interactions with the living universe in one's consciousness or creations. However the only thing that relates similarity between religion and spirituality is that both have their own (composed) spiritual values regardless of whatever..(specifically whether good or bad) xxPQ..

I see what you mean, I do not entirely disagree.
In my case, the answer is Rational Spirituality as available on the Dhaxem website. Conveyed only in February 2006, it is already the thinking person's spiritual concept. If you are intelligent enough to understand it (no offence is meant), you will see that it is quite different from anything else. Sooner than most people believe, it will replace the religions with the sheer weight of its logic.

I can certainly see the utter nonsence there, as it by no means represents all religions ... perhaps none.
Many gods in many traditions do not require any sort of collection. Many do not damn non-believers. Many do not have some "will" to be made known.
Your foundation is weak and means little or nothing when compared to many religions.

The dogma between one religion and another differs, the things they believe and the rituals they preform. I take martial arts for my religion Tai chi is most reccomended for it. Very few people have a problem with Taoism, unless its a fundie christian or a fundie muslim. The beleifs of Taoism are basically Pagan, that people come from the four (five elements) of life. I know as an atheist you probably dont care much for Pagans either, but at least we dont evangelize like other religions do.......

Well, I'm a Pagan and my religion has the first thing, although it's not quite insisted upon. It KIND OF has the second thing there. But the rest of it has no place in Paganism, thank the Goddess!
Blessed be.

Wow. There are a whole lot of religions you know nothing about if you honestly believe all that.
It is true for many but definitely not all.
The God of my religion demands nothing but that we love and help each other. He has no nation. He abhors war. He seeks no worship nor praise. He hates no one and damns no one.

The only thing I see is a jerk, bigot, and a person full of you know what, and that is you. What is with that picture?
good thing for you that you are not mocking the Muslims, or they will be calling for your death. and good for you that you are unknown idiot, hiding behind the computer.
You clearly don't know anything about the Christians other how much should I bash them today. Grown some dignity and Grow up.
You do have a way with your words, and now with pictures as well, and it is called Trash.

What most people don't understand is the differance between religion and relationship. When God is the center of our life then it is a relationship. A person who tries to turn people from God has a relationship with his god (satan) . now its not religion

You know when I ask a question, it's not a question seeking to affect that group of people in a negative way. I'm sorry you're so "bent" on insulting God. If you don't like Him, then why are you here? Leave us who prefer to believe in an everloving, and forgiving God alone. I don't go to your territory harrassing you.

You have a very screwed up view of religion. You think it's all bad and full of sheep that you don't see the beauty of it for those who follow a religion. Plus, when you're talking about religion, just put down Christianity, since we know you're not talking about Wiccans, Buddhists, Hindus, or Pagans. Your whole question explains that much.
And what makes mine better then yours? It just is, duh.
And I find your avatar very offensive.
