USAirways is just like any other airline--- you will find some people who love them and some people with horror stories about them. If it is only one trip, and they have the flight you want at the price you want, you'll do just as well there as anywhere else. My only comment for a single trip with USAirways is avoid connecting through Philadelphia if at all possible as there are constant problems with bags making it to the next plane from just that one airport.

If you are travelling in coach/economy, all the major carriers are going to be the same--- smallish seats, you pay for meals if you even have the option to get a meal, and basic/minimum service. Don't expect too much in coach, but again, that is on any US airline. If you will be paying for first class, I'd go with United instead; USAir's first class is just fine for a frequent traveller who gets free upgrades but United has a much better first class. So if you are paying for first, look elsewhere, or you might not feel like you are getting your money's worth.

That said, I personally am a big fan of USAirways. They have the highest number of direct flights leaving from my home airport (there's actually 3 airports in my area but I won't fly out of two of them because they're not really all that close). I get consistently decent service with them, and have had few minor problems and no major problems with them.

I fly US Air nearly ALL the time [domestic and international/caribbean] and have been so pleased with their service.

My frequent flyer miles are with them too.

Last August I was flying back from St. Martin, FWI and when changing planes in Charlotte, they asked if anyone was willing to give up their seat [overbooked] - I was not because usually airlines only put you up for the night, maybe a meal - BUT they offered me a round trip ticket to anywhere in the domestic US good for a year AND they put me up in great hotel with free transportation and two meals.

I have traveled with US Airways multiple times within the United States and I have always been satisfied with their aircraft, timing, and friendly service!

I have never had a problem with US Airways. I have only flown on them twice, but I had no complaints.
