I've been to the main island four times so far. Absolutely beautiful, from Brighton Beach Salt Pond, to Owea Salt Pond, from the Leeward beaches to the Windward beaches. From the pine forests to the rain forests to the botanical gardens.
And the people? They are friendly, hospitable, and welcoming. Everywhere I went I had I was invited in and invited to share their food. Pigtail and Callaloo soup, rice and peas, yams, cassava, plantain, goat curries, saltfish, breadfruit, breadnuts.
The women are beautiful, the men are handsome, the children divine. The music is infectious, the dancing grabs you, the sun caresses you and the sea invites you.
Hairoun itself is truly the blessed isle.
It is too bad that when the British left, they took all the monies and industries with them, as the people there truly deserve more than they were left with.
I haven't been to the Grenadines. I look forward to going to Bequia, Mustique, and all the little islands in future visits.

Not really. The Grenadines are a nature lover's paradise, a sailor's dream and a pleasure abyss for romantics. Hairoun beer ranks among the best palate pleasers anywhere on the planet. This destination is worth a lifetime of work. Easter here is equivalent to reducing one's age by ten years.you gotta try it. "Trini to the bone."

I'm a "Vincy" ex pat.
I visit every year, my grand mother is in Mespo. I miss "Juicy" and whenever I can get it up here in Canada I make sure I stock up.
