Keep this up and you won't have any boyfriend. You know you can't have both. There;'s a strong chance your ex wants you back just because he doesn't want you to be happy with your new love. It's the old ..." If I can't have you, no one else can either." By keeping contact with your ex, you aren't really committing yourself to the new boyfriend. So, step up to the plate. Tell the ex it's time for him to move on because that is what you have done. Wish him the best, and then give all of your devotion and phone conversations to your new guy. Please don't lose the best thing that has ever happened to you.

Do you think that maybe you love your current boyfriend so much because you're fooling yourself that he's like your ex, just better?
I think that maybe you just need to sit down, on your own, and think about what you truely want...do you want your ex back, who still loves and misses you, or do you want to stay where you are in your happy relationship?
If you don't want to be with your ex, then maybe you should tell him, when he's in a good mood, that you like him a lot, you just want him to cool off for a bit because you have a boyfriend who you love and you're happy with, and you don't want to get back with him, but tell him that you'd love to have him as a friend, just be careful not to go to your ex with problems about your current boyfriend, i made that mistake and yikes, it messes everything up!

Tell him the truth. Say that we are ex's for a reason and I now have to move on with my life. I think keeping contact will not allow me to move on as easily I would like, I think its best if we do not speak to eachother any more.

it's only natural to still think about someone who you spent so much time with... i'm in the same situation rite now and i finally swallowed my gut and told my ex to please let it go; there were tears, but that just means i'm not a cold hearted person and that i actually did care about the boy... goodbyes are never easy, especially when your the only one trying to say it... he may or may not be willing to do it but as long as you stay true to you and listen to your heart, you'll be fine..

Tell your ex that you no longer can communicate with him. If he's hounding you about it, it's not cute. If you trully are happy with your new boyfriend, then it shouldn't be a problem to tell your ex to get lost.
