I've started a different diet, because I'm trying to lose weight for my wedding. I've been eating a lot more veggies like...lettuce, green pepper, celery, carrots and fruit. Can this cause me to have more gas and make my stomach feel kind of funny?

Yup - just take some over the counter anti-gas medication until your body gets used to it and you will be fine. Good luck on your diet and congrats on your upcoming wedding!

You won't have stomach problems unless you have an ulcer. What you will have is some bad gas for a time while your body adjusts to having so many more veggies in it. The reason for this is simple. If you ever took bio in high school you remember that plant cells have a cell wall around them. That cell wall is very hard to digest and thus causes you a bit of gas when you eat it. This is why cows and horses have multiple stomachs, to digest all that plant matter.

get yourself some beano, or gas ex.

if you are going from eating very little dietary fiber to a diet that is high in dietary fiber than that would by typical.

you need to slowly make changes in the diet. the body does not like drastic changes they most occur slowly over a period of time.
