Is there a dial for the temperature? Is it on 0 degrees? Try setting it to a higher temperature. If that's not the problem then its probably time to get a new one. Is it still under warranty? Call the company then. Straighteners are very hard to fix. Invest in a good ceramic one like Sedu or Solia. I dont recommend the Chi. My friends broke and it definitely did not stand up to her new Solia or my Sedu.

I dont know which brand you have but i had one that a hold button on a side that you switch when you want straightener to lock on your hair so you dont have to hold it with your fingers till they get numb. When I plug it in it dont get hot if i do it in a hold position. I dont know it you know what i am talkin about but basically it has to be opened like sizzors in order for it to get hot and not when its closed. Try that. Also have you tried different outlets...maybe that particular one dont work, if that is not the case then I guess you gon have to throw them out. I dont even think it would be worth it to take it to someone to fix it or even bother to have some kind of manufaturer warranty.

Well it took me a long time to learn but, I finally spent the money on a straightner called CHI. $120. (You can find them on ebay for cheaper.)I am so glad I did. It heats up in about 10sec (not joking) and it makes my hair feel silky smooth. You should use some sort of serum when using it though, so it does not do damage. I recommend silk infusion by Chi. It works wonders!! Good luck!
