Somewhere BAGGAGE got a real negative tone to it... I used to wonder just exactly what baggage was then I discovered it's simply lessons learned from past experiences and/or relationships... My perspective is that lessons learned (i.e. baggage) is a good thing... you try this and that until you find something that works... and even then, you continue to improve.
On the other hand, The negative connotation is real but should be applied to "people with character disorders"...
e.g. someone gets " cheated on" and decides that all are not to be trusted... period. Well, not trusting until you know you can is a good thing... and trusting based on trustworthy actions is certainly the way you should approach that decision. But when someone has taken that to extremes, made a decision to not trust period.. well, that's a character malfunction, not baggage.
- I rest my case...
To answer the question directly... Baggage is to be expected.. Personality disorders are to be avoided..

I would date anyone who I was attracted to. It would be hypocritical to not date someone with "baggage" because to be perfectly honest, unless you are like 12 (and some 12 year olds I know do), everyone has baggage.

I certainly wouldn't exclude someone from the dating pool because they have baggage. Who doesn't have baggage? My last boyfriend ended our relationship because of what he consisdered my 'baggage', and I was completely blind-sided. Turns out, the guy is a Grade-A sinister prick. See, it's the ones who cloak their true character that you need to watch out for.

It depends on what type of baggage it is. I mean we all come with something, right. Its all up to what you want to put up with.

Of course. You really don't have a choice anyways. Everyone has baggage.

everyone has baggage. the question is how do they handle their baggage? if she is still sleeping with her ex-boyfriend and cheats on you, probably not the best candidate for a girlfriend. but if she was cheated on and has minor issues that she tries not to let effect your relationship, she shouldn't be punished for that.

it really depends on how much baggage and the nature of the baggage... i can say i personally didn't want to involve anyone in all of my baggage, and trust me it was alot, but my situaton wasn't my fault so it did end up really hurting at times.

Brian, don't be woried about someones baggage from the past. If you really care for her and want to be with her. pick up her bag and carry it and her into your life! It takes strength and love to help someone with thier bags.
