I used that along with a generic form of Accutane. My acne cleared up. You have to remember to follow the instructions and don't expect instant results.

When I was a freshman in highschool, I hit puberty bad. My face blew up. I had terrible, terrible acne. My acne wasn't aboved the skin, it was entirely below it so it was going to take a really effective medication to get below the surface and clear it up. I literally tried just about every single over the counter thing to cure it but nothing worked. My doctor finally referred me to a dermatologist who prescribed Retin A Micro and antibioditics. My acne completely cleared up within about four months. There were no red marks left over, no scars, nothing. Just really, really healthy skin, the skin I had before I had the horrible acne. At times, the medication really dried out my skin and caused some slight peeling, but if this happens to you, just reduce the usage to every other day or every two days. Since then, I haven't had any other bad outbreaks of acne, but if I did, I would definitely use Retin A Micro again because it was so effective for me. If the drying and or peeling gets to be too much for you, let your doctor know. Otherwise, keep up with using it because it can definitely be worth it. I used it and it worked amazingly for me. I hope it does for you too!

Yes. My son has been on RetinA for a few months and his skin has cleared up dramatically. At first he was on a lower dosage of the cream, but his doctor put him on a stronger perscription and his skin really cleared up nicely. He is also on an oral antibiotic for his skin. You may need something like that eventually, but most dermatologists try the lesser treatments first and work their way up to the stronger treatments depending on the needs of the patients. Just make sure you use it consistently. My son always wants to "skip a day" and I tell him that just having the medicine in his medicine chest isn't going to clear his skin up. Spoken like a true nagging mother, I know, but what else can I say... Don't forget to limit your exposure to the sun while you're on it too. Good luck to you.
