I think if I saw a burning bush in front of me that wasn't being consumed by the fire and a voice from the bush told me to listen and follow His instructions I would do so. God's voice wasn't in Moses' head. God actually spoke to him.

Hi madnoelle,
Moses was considered the greatest prophet, with no greater prophet after him.
One of the reasons for that is when he G-d spoke to Moses, according to the Bible, Exodus 33:11,
"The LORD would speak to Moses face to face, as a man speaks with his friend."

This was not in dream or in a vision like some other prophets

He figured that one that appeared in a burning bush that was not burned up, turned his staff to a serpent and back, turned his hand leprous and back, dropped 10 plagues on the Egyptians, parted the water of the sea so that they could walk across on dry ground, engraved his commandments onto stone tablets with is finger, sent food for several million people for 40 years, appeared visiable as a pillar of cloud by day and fire by night for 40 years, produced water from rocks, and split the ground open to swallow up his enemies was God. The other voices were not.

When God speaks audably it will be clear and there will be no doubt... and... any thing He might say will be verifiable through what of His word we have recorded... I have heard God audably on two occasions... for a total of ten words.... and there was no doubt who was speaking.... It is not really that rare for God to speak audably..but it is usualy only for the individual and is not reported publicly... The Last Prophet of God to mankind, who was to pass on what God wanted mankind to do, was John The Baptist...... God now deals with each indiviual personaly so any communication is usualy private in nature... and usualy God commuincates indirectly through inspiration. ..... in any case.... if it is from God you will clearly know it... when He wants you to know it.

Voice of God was billowing and penetrated the soul. The other voices were squirrely and only struck the surface.

The same way we differentiate the two voices.
Jesus is the truth, the way and the life!

at a guess you get to know the will of God by reading his word. Also there was less distractions in them days and the people of God were more in tune with him.

I think when God's talking to you you'll really know it's Him. It's something that can't be ignored and doesn't ever fail to get it's point across. Moses knew when God was talking to Him...
