Why does my dog come to me when i whistle it has a funny effect on her.?

When i whistle she comes to me is there a reason for this.

She thinks you are trying to get her attention. She likes that as she wants your attention.

Yes, she thinks you are calling her. It is a normal thing for a dog to do.
