I looked all around the supermarket but i couldnt find where they have the okra? maybe i just missed it, but what is it located by? im fiending for jambalaya

It's not in season now. But you find it in the produce section with the collard greens and kale.

I too have this problem. now that i live in the north west i cant find fresh okra in any supermarket.some people have never even heard of it.for gumbo i use frozen which the large stores actually carry.its already cut and then flash frozen it works best if you thaw it totally and drain before adding so it doesn't add any extra liquid to your dish.(warning )it doesnt work for deep fried okra.

At my local grocery store it is a seasonal vegetable to find fresh. But you can but it frozen and even in cans. Try a store that has a lot a variety unlike Wal-Mart that only carries certain brands. You'll have to look closely and if you still cant find it ask some one in the store to help.

If you live in the south and southeast, you should be able to find it fresh in the produce section. Most other regions sell it frozen, with the other frozen veggies. It comes in those white plastic bags, already sliced, and is just as good as fresh.
