I wanted to make my own wedding favors to add a personal touch to the gifts of my guests. What would be a good thing to make that is still wedding oriented?

My theme is Celtic fantasy. The colors are pink and purple (I know it being Celtic there should be green in there but that's where the fantasy comes in) The fantasy part is fairies and mystical things.

It depends on what time of year your wedding is or if you have a theme. My wedding is in April and I was going to either hand out seeds (love blooms) or do little pails with personalized ribbon and candies in them. You can go to hobby lobby or even Wal-Mart or any type of craft store and they have things that will help you make favors. It isn't too expensive and makes it a lot easier.

You could make cheap pictures of you and your fiance` with a thank you or a poem at the bottom? What is your theme? If it is beach or island, I have seen little one inch. bottles that you could put sand and little seashells in with a thank you note and seal with a cork. Very cute! You could also use the same idea and put a few pieces of candy(with out the sand and shells) You could use a few different ideas so not everyone has the same gift. Don't think of making one for each person, do it more for one for each family or invitation...our wedding we invited 350 people but only had to sent out 100 invitations, we had only 100 favors and I got back about 50 not kidding! Good Luck and Congrates!

In St. Cloud MN we have a Crafts Direct store and they always have awsome ideas for stuff like that...call your local crafts store! or visit and ask for some ideas! Have fun!

One of my friends made little tiny gel candles. They had a beach theme, so they put miniature pebbles and sea shells in the bottom of the candle.

Another wedding we went to, they had "home" made wine. There are a lot of places where you can get your own wine made. They will even make a customized label with your names and wedding date for all the bottles.

Get little inexpensive boxes (you can get them in almost any color), fill them with pretty pink and purple confetti, call it Fairy Dust or Pixie Dust, and tie the boxes up with pink or purple organza ribbon. Easy and inexpensive.....and most likely not anything your guests have gotten at any other wedding they've been too!

Congrats and best wishes!

Lavendar is quite "in" right now. I would suggest going to the local fabric store, buying some beautiful fabric -- only about a yard -- and make sachees for your guests. Leave them at the tables by the place cards.

My niece and her fiance put a CD together of 20 romantic songs and everyone had one at their place at the tables.
A friend of mine did cool silver ice cream scoops with candy almonds in the scoop and they were tied with the colors of the wedding party.
My nephew and his fiance did votive candles in terra cotta pots sitting on a terra cotta base with small artificial flowers on the base. On the pot they wrote their names and wedding date.

I'm getting married next week and for my wedding we got mini champagne bottles for everyone.I then got black cardboard, cut it up in little pieces and with a silver pen wrote thank you (with little hearts on each side) then wrote my name and hubby2be's name and our new surname and then underneath that i wrote the date of our wedding date.then i hole punched all the little bits of cardboard and tied the messages to the bottles using pink curling ribbon(my wedding theme is black and pink)
Make sure you get your bridesMAIDS to help you:)
All the best!

this really depends on a couple of factors: your wedding colors, your wedding theme etc.
