we've been together for a year but it wasn't easy. however, somehow we always talked about our problems and made up. this time he found out that he has a baby coming soon from his old girlfriend. i told him that it is ok and i understand that he has a baby. i am willing to stay with him and love him the same with or with a baby. but, he doesn't know what to do anymore. he's not sure how much he truly loves me. so we are having a break to see if he comes back to me. he wants us to still remain friends and still talk to each other. but i know it's not right for me to be friends with him or even talk to him. he wants space, i'll give him space. my question is how long shall i wait?

Wait??? I wouldn't wait intentionally. Allow yourself to date because you could be missing out on the guy of your dreams. And IF he just happens to come back into your life later and you are available, then get back with him if you chose. Don't wait because time is precious and you can't go back in time!!

I bet it has thrown him for a loop that he has a baby coming from an old girlfriend. He is trying to figure out what to do. Should he marry her and take care of her OR dont marry her but help support the baby OR wipe his hands completly off the whole thing.
Sounds good that he still wants to talk to you while he is taking time (space) to think things over. I say be there for him. Be supportive and give him his space. As to how long of time to give him that space????...... Wait a month and ask him then where his mind is at on things and take it from there. He should know by then if he still wants you in his life that he loves you.
