The great hot chocolate for a great deal depends on the cocoa you use. The fresher and the more aromatic it is, the better your end result will be.
Hot chocolate invention stools on the discovery in the XIXth century by Conrad van Houten. The Dutchman discovered that the removal of abt half of the cocoa butter made the resulting cocoa powder more dissolvable in water, providing a more digestible beverage that is easy to make. It was a big improvement on the bitter thick 'xocolatl' style Aztec heavy brew.
Fats and water don't mix well. Therefore, put two teaspoons of cocoa in a mug with sugar to taste, add some boiling water and stir vigorously. Then top off with steaming milk stirring continuously as you fill the mug.
You can top off with freshly whipped cream or put two or three marshmallows for a yet smoother taste. Finish by sprinkling some powdered cocoa over the whipped cream. Enjoy!

Hi. I LOVE hot chocolate, and the best recipe I've ever found is the one on the box of Hersheys powdered chocolate. Look for it in the baking aisle. Follow the directions and you can't go wrong. Of course, if you are of legal age, a shot of Peppermint Schnapps goes very well! Enjoy!

From Serendipity 3!! Frozen Hot Chocolate

INGREDIENTS
6 half-ounce pieces of a variety of your favorite chocolates
2 teaspoons of store-bought hot chocolate mix
1 1/2 tablespoons sugar
1 1/2 cups milk

Whipped cream
Chocolate shavings

Chop the chocolate into small pieces. Place it in the top of a double boiler over simmering water. Stir occasionally until melted. Add the hot chocolate mix and sugar. Stir until completely melted. Remove from heat and slowly add ½ cup of milk until smooth. Cool to room temperature.

In a blender, place the remaining cup of milk, the room-temperature chocolate mixture and the ice. Blend on high speed until smooth and the consistency of a frozen daiquiri. Pour into a giant goblet and top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings.

Any brand of hot chocolate with a shot of Chambord in it is amazing... it tastes like a Godiva Dark Chocolate Raspberry filled candy bar. Its sinful almost.

Use mix, but instead of water, use milk. It gives it a very nice flavour and smoother texture. Microwave on high 3 minutes, add marshmallow, whipped cream, and chocolate chips. Preferably served with cookies. Mmmmm!

Use the hot cocoa mix and then put a scoop of your favorite ice cream (not anything fruity) in. Then you stick a candy can inside as a stirrer.
