Something I highly recommend is microsoft power point

You can make the power point slide the size of your card (typically 4" x 2") and then position the text, graphis, or whatever exactly how you want it. ITs good, because if you want some kind of a graphic, e.g. work for a company or something you can paste that graphic and play with it without it interfereing with the text.

Then, when your finished, save the file as an "enhanced windows metafile" which basically saves it as if it were a graphic, which will be 4 inchs by 2 inches if thats what you programmed. then just paste it into a word file, 10 times, lined up right, and print them out on either the proper paper, or the paper thats perferated and ready to tear into the buisness cards.

It works, and its really simple, its how I do mine, and I've done other peoples for them. IF you have any questions let me know.

If you're using Avery brand business card stock, you can download a free business card program at www.avery.com. It's really easy to use because when you get ready to print them, you just select the model number of card stock that you're using, and it automatically sets up all of your margins and everything so that they print out correctly. You don't have to worry about setting them up manually.

2 things about the previous reply.
First, Powerpoint is a poor choice.
You can use word easier, (though only if you print them out)
If you are going to have them printed professionaly, use a real DTP application, like Quark, InDesign, or Illustrator.

And second, a business card is 2 x 3.5 inches.
