this girl that i really like's birthday is coming up quickly. I need some good ideas for a gift for this special girl...what do girls like? any ideas?

I would personally like anything that you put some sort of thought into, and just didn't get at the last minute. I would be happy enough that you remembered my birthday.
You can never go wrong getting a girl good smelling perfume, candles, or good smelling lotions. Try "Bed, Bath, and Beyond", or "Bath and Body Works".
I don't know what your girlfriend is like, but pay close attention to what she says and you can get a good idea of what to get her. Maybe get her something for her car (seat covers...etc), a favorite movie (that she doesn't already have), or a CD that she wants.
Or you could take her out to eat at her favorite restaurant, and surprise her (give her the gift there).

Most girls prefer to get gifts that are cute, personal, and had alot of thought put into them over expensive gifts or things that everyone gives. Be creative and think about what a girl would really want to know from a gift. They want to know that they are cared for and that a guy takes time to think about a creative gift for them.

It may sound cliche, but almost all girls love to get flowers. And don't just get roses (that really IS cliche). Be creative (tulips, lillies, etc.). Flowers and a nice card will win you major points.
