Not really a 'delicacy', but I think the Australian Vegemite is gross.
I just don't get that black salty goo. I tried to like it, really I did!
They put little packets of it right on the table along with the butter and jams.
Strybl, which is Duck Blood Soup. Really. I think this is Polish, but it's considered a simple country dish. Yuck!
Sannakji, which is live octopus, chopped up live and served right away, while it's still *squirming* is from South Korea.
Lots more, but I'm getting queasy...

If you anyone ever goes to a chinese restaurant that's 99% authentic, you'll see black preserved eggs, chicken feet, cow stomachs, Fish eyes, cow tongue, sharks fin, pigs feet, pig ears etc. I've eaten sea cucumbers. Japanese cuisine has a lot of weird raw stuff too like poisonous puffer fish. I think rednecks eat something called mountain oysters which you're going to have to get someone to explain that to you. I know the english eat something called spotted dick and lamb lungs. There's something in southeast asia that people eat called birds nest, and it's exactly how it sounds. It costs about a hundred bucks for a few small hand sized birds nest. They cultivate it in caves where some weird birds live and supposedly it has "magical" properties to it. Great question though

I come from a state with Scandinavian roots. each 3 hundred and sixty 5 days, in basic terms earlier Christmas, many Lutheran church homes have a Lutefisk Supper. maximum would not evaluate this a delicacy, yet i love it and those suppers are continuously properly attended. for sure, the Swedish meatballs and Swedish sausages, potatoes and lefse also served might want to have something to do with it.

In places in Asia a delicacie of theirs is half developed chickens. Like not in yolk and white form but the chick has developed enough to have bones and stuff. Then they cook them and eat them right out of the shell. They even have vendors on the street like hot dog vendors.
Hot dogs, thats another story...

My old boss went to Singapore and she was out at a very fancy dinner and she was served Shark fin soup. She said it was red and parts of the fin were floating. She couldn't stomach it and couldn't bring herself to eat it. lol

I ate raw moose and steak tartare in Norway.
They also eat some mighty wonderful goat cheeses there.
What they really like is fish. Fish. fish. Fish.
