Well you could try Aishya but really the name your husband has put down is beautiful. Don't change it, because she will definitely be different and no one else will have that name, so stick with it, it's lovely.

Depending on the state your child was born in, it may be too late to change it. I know that in my state (Florida), you can change the child's name up until the child is one year old. I personally think it should be spelled "Asia". "Ajaiah" is kind of strange and people will always stumble over it. Call up your local Vital Statistics or Vital Records office and ask how you can change the birth certificate.

I think the spelling your hubby picked out is just a little too different. Your child will go through life correcting people on how to pronounce her name. It is a beautiful name but it is being over killed with the spelling. My daughter has a daugher named Deijah pronounced deja and her child is constantly correcting also. Different is good but I think this is too far out. People now it seems are trying to out do each other on weird spellings.

I would change the spelling. You need to go to the office where you get the birth certificate and request a form for a name change. I would change the spelling to Asyia. Or, just a thought, you could spell it Aisya.

I'm not sure why people want to spell a name "differently". They think it makes their child special but all it does is get them called by the wrong name their entire life.By that spelling she is going to be called " Uh jay a" or something similar for her entire life. Why not spell it like it is supposed to be spelled?

Personally, I like the spelling Aijah. The extra A in Aijaiah makes it sounds like a- jya.

Seems like is too late now? I prefer Asia, but could be Aja or Azja also I guess.
Do not think Ajaiah looks like you would pronounce it Aja --- too many letters. Ah-ja-ee-haw
