I like it just as it is. There's a rapport here that is lacking among the other categories. Your thoughts?

Hi Cat...that's the reason I posed this question. I find it's too rigid also, but still better than the other categories.

I find it has become TO rigid now!
ie: if I say "Hi Amy" I might get a violation notice for chatting!

I think more rigid Q&A, for the main reason that if you actually have a serious question and want a serious answer, it's very difficult to get through. If for no other reason than real questions never show up on the list because of all the messages from the ignorant trolls. There are lots of places to chat on the web. Let's leave "Yahoo Answers" to people who actually want "Answers" and not just to the trolls who want to bash people.

When I do find a serious question I always answer it, but those are few and far between, especially from neo-atheists. I am not trying to offend anybody, that's just been my experience.

Here in the Q&A center real views can be read by the person asking the question. Often times they can be helped - The asker can weed through the mindless hatred and ridicule and see the answer that he or she may need. I like this better then the other.

Well, I DO wish that some of the TOTALLY childish "questions" could be zapped out of existence. The ones that show some real thought (even by atheists) are at least an opportunity for me, as a follower of Jesus the Christ, to tell the Good News. YBIC

Well hi. How was your day?

The wife and kids okay?

Your religion sucks, whatever is.

We washed the car today and of course it rained.

How about them Mets?

Your God is really just a figment of your imagination.

My kid started teething yesterday and she just won't stop crying.

You're going to hell, you know that don't you?

So, did anyone catch Desperate Housefraus last night? Isn't Camenbert gaining a little weight?

My church is better than your church.

What kind of mulch doe you use on your roses?

We ate your Flying Spaghetti Monster at our Baptist Pot-luck dinner last night, you freak.

Thanks,

Good day all!

See you next time around.

I've only been here a few days, and I'm rather enjoying it. Could be a bit more debate and a bit less name-calling, but I suppose that's the nature of the beast when dealing with touchy subjects.

I just wish the Yahoo moderators would stop yanking questions before I finish answering them though...

I would prefer the rigid control. It would cut out a lot of the crap such as prayer requests and preaching. I doubt the trolls would ever go away.

But I would love to see more valid questions. Thought-provoking ones.

The quick turnover of questions is what makes it interesting-there are always new topics to be discussed. I like this format better than conventional discussion forums.

I'd prefer it to be a discussion forum. The way this is set up discourages follow up discussion because you can only post one response to a question.

I'd prefer lack of knowledge expressed with sincerity
