My port on my video camera has the usb sign above it... is that the same port as a DV in/out (FireWire) interface???

No. On mine, it just says DV for the firewire port so look for that. Or sometimes the ports are covered by rubber covers, so you might need to see if its covered or not. Hope this helps!

There are many differences between a usb and a firewire port (mostly between the data transfer speed and its limitations.) However, both can still be used to transfer data back and forth between the camcorder and computer.
