Yes. Boiling leeches out more nutrients than steaming. Be careful not to over cook or you will kill the nutrients anyway.

When you boil food some nutrients go into the water, and the only way to recover some of them is to use the water you boiled the food in, otherwise they just go down the drain with the water. Steaming keeps the nutrients in the food, mostly. A little gets out into the droplets of steam but very little to matter.

Both processes, however, will destroy some nutrients through heat.

boiling washes the nutrients (and flavor) right out of the food your preparing. Steaming almost sears it in . Just compare the color's of the same food boiled vs steamed.

steaming is also very quick with little water used.

Yes steaming prevents the loss of nutrients and vitamins,if you are unable to steam keep the water that you have boiled the vegetables in and use it for gravy ,sauce, soup.This contains the precious vitamins and nutrients.Lindsay.

nope, but their is logic! when you boil food, you drain the water, which usually has taken some of the nutrients out of the food, when steaming it, you drain nothing, therefore, not losing any nutrients! brilliant i know...
