High breeders fees do not ensure quality. Do your homework!

Don't be as concerned about the price as the temperament of the animal is more important. I'd want to see how the dog was raised. Go out to a breeder or look for an older dog that people want to find a good home for. It's not cheap to get a neurotic puppy-mill dog.

Probably only bad breeders and puppy mills. Check out AKC.org for golden breeders in your area, but be prepared to pay for quality! On the other hand, try a golden rescue!
