Energy is sored in the body as:

1.Glycogen in the muscles and liver etc.. You probably know that glycogen is a polymer of glucose and is a carbohydrate,

2. Fat. which is a triglycerides. One pound of fat in the subcutaneous tissues is equivalent to 3500 calories.

In a couple of different ways. There is fat and there is glycogen. Both depend on storing the energy in chemical bonds. When these bonds are broken the energy is reseased. The cells can then use this stored energy.

It is also possible for the body to extract some energy by breaking down protein.

energy is stored in the body in the muscles in the form of carbohydrates eating such foods ie potatoes pasta rice etc will boost your energy levels hope this helps

Long term regular: fat
Long term emergency (although some regular): protein
