USA, Britian, European Countries etc, all have the same problems. They are breaking the laws of the Country! They take jobs away from the Legal residents, they then help to smuggle in others. They are illegal so dont pay taxes etc. I dont know how they do it without papers etc but some manage to get benifits. Didn't know Americans viewed the Scots or Irish as illegal immigrants? You must be talking of the US though as only the Southern Irish could be illegal in Britain. Immigration numbers are high for legal ones and they cause problems so it makes me wonder why anyone bothers to Emigrate!

Everyone is required to obey the laws of the land. Illegal immigrants are illegal because they have failed to obey the laws. They commit more crimes than just illegal entry. It doesn't matter what country they come from, they are lawbreakers and belong behind bars, on chain gangs, in work camps or maybe even tried as spies and enemy combatants and executed. You probably can't see the problem if you don't obey the laws, but those of us who do obey the law want the laws enforced for EVERYONE!

The "immigrant" part isn't the problem. The "illegal" part is the problem. If someone is willing to break the law to enter the country, why should he/she be trusted to obey other laws?

The problem is that while we would all like everyone to come here legally, we're also not prepared to face the consequences if they did.

The fact is, many illegal immigrants perform services that citizens and legal residents will not. Either they flat out don't want to, or the employer isn't prepared to pay minimum wage for a legal.

I'm sure that most of you complaining about illegal immigrants would complain just as loudly if the price of produce skyrocketed because the farms started paying $5.15/hr to pick it.

The problem is, how do we resolve the undesired element of illegal immigration with the desire to keep prices down?

It's a slap in the face to someone who went through all the steps to get here legally.

Um its illegal? OK so if theres not going to be no laws I can come live in your house and demand you take care of me and you can give me your car? I want you to pay my bills and if I tear your world apart thers no laws so theres nothing you can do about it?

The problem word is "illegal."
They aren't supposed to be here. They are breaking the law.
That's what the problem is.
