For the price the new Mustang is a great car. I have worked for Ford for many years and we rarely see the new Mustang in for problems. The new Mustang GT500 is a great bang for the buck but very hard to get. You can get just as much performance out of a 3 valve Mustang with the right mods and especially if you bolt on a supercharger for less than a GT500 and easier to get. The new Shelby GT is the next best thing and may be easier to get. I wish Ford would bring back the SVT Cobra Mustang and use the 4.6L DOHC supercharged and non supercharged engines they must have in stock. If my '90 5.0L LX ever breaks down(not likely) or I get a bigger garage I will buy another Mustang for sure.

The new Fords as a whole are much more reliable than they (or any American car) were in the '80's. The new 'Stangs look great, and I would buy one if that was my only option, but I like my '65 better.

I'd give it another year before asking the reliability question. New model and all...probably will have a few niggles here and there.

I'd buy a GT though...love that car...just can't really own such a car as a daily driver.
