I agree with the others, the priest will recommend readings, you can chose the ones you like the most.

Sorry, I cannot cite chapter and verse, a popular Old Testament reading comes from Genesis on the creation of man and woman. It includes something to the effect of "He will leave his father and mother and cleave to his wife and the two will become one." The most popular New Testament reading is in Corinthians, I read it at a friends' wedding. Again cannot remember all the details, but it includes "Love is patient, love is kind, it does not put on airs, it is not jealous etc". Two of the most common Gospels (the Priest will read the Gospel) are the wedding at Cana and a passage from John which states in part "Love one another as I have loved you".

Congratulations and good luck.

The most popular is 1 Corinthians Ch13 which is "love is patient, love is kind..."

Talk to the priest about it. He should have all the help you'll require.

A side note- in a Catholic wedding, family members will read two different selections, but the priest will read the third, assuming it's not just a wedding but a mass.

Good Luck.

Generally the readings are chosen from the book of Genesis,,, if you are getting married in a Catholic Church, the priest should be able to give you a list of readings to chose from. The llink below will give you a list of readings to choose from as well. Congratulations!

The priest should have given you a book from which you will select all the readings, prayers, songs, etc. Also, it will depend on whether you are having a Mass or just a ceremony. A Mass will have more readings, one from the Old Testament, one from the New Testament (any book) and one from a Gospel.

the one from corinthians - "...and the greatest of them all is love." the church actually should provide you with a list of readings acceptable by the church. the priest should only be reading the gospel. :)
