I started cramping on Friday night and last night the pain was so bad I cried myself to sleep. I am having a lot of pressure down there and a lot of cramping, but my period is not for another week and a half...any ideas what this could be? I wonder if it could be endrometriosis (sp) I am scared to death about this and want to eventually have children so I am stressed out. Last night the pain was so bad that I took medicine and it still didn't work and I even slept with a heating pad? Anyone experienced this? Or have any ideas? Please help

Yeah I forgot to mention that I guess it is possible that I could be pregnant but we use protection. So it is a very slim chance I guess. Also if this is PMS is it normal for it to happen quite a while before your period starts?

A questionnaire distributed by the Endometriosis Association revealed that 100 percent of respondents experienced pain one to two days prior to their periods. In addition, 71 percent reported pain midcycle, 40 percent reported pain other times, and 20 percent reported pain throughout their cycles, while 7 percent reported intermittent pain with no particular pattern. The pain reported in this questionnaire was mostly abdominal, but the pain of endometriosis can manifest in emotional symptoms such as mood swings, depression, irritability, anxiety, anger, and feelings of helplessness, fear, powerlessness, and insecurity. If you are not pregnant get to your OB as soon as possible if you do wish to have children in the future. I was diagnosed with endrometriosis last July I am 26 and thank God I all ready had 3 children because I had waited so long and put off as painful periods that it had gotten not only my uterus but my intestines, my bladder, and my ovaries. Needless to say I had a partial hysterectomy in August. So please see your doctor just to make sure. Good luck and my thoughts are with you.

If you think it might be endometriosis, please go see a doctor immediately. The pain only gets worse. If it's caught early enough, the adhesions and cysts can be removed without jeopardizing your ability to bear children. It's an outpatient procedure and is simple to recover from. I speak from experience. Good luck.
