Purposely rebellion against God and Gods Truth. This causes spiritual blindness / death. It isn't written in the 7 deadly sins.

Venial sin with penance and God's grace is humanly reparable.
Mortal sin risks eternal damnation unless absolved in the sacrament of confession, or taken away by a perfect contrition.

The Seven Deadly Sins as listed by Pope Gregory the Great in the 4th century are not to be confused with the 7 things the Lord hates in Proverbs 6:16 – 19. The rest of popular understanding of the 7 Sins comes from literature. (Dante before many others).

Being 'deadly' is just a term the laity use to strike fear amongst 'God-fearing' folk.
