'm supprised at u guys as this guy is winding u all up. Older cars had wing fitted mirrors hence wing mirrors then along came door mirrors. Now this guy has u all thinking wing mirrors as in mirrors to reflect rear vision within sight of the operator of the type of vehicle / aircraft. Ok military fighter aircraft do have a rear view mirror old aircraft on outside and modern inside. I think this guy is winding u all up, w3ing mirrors on the wings of a car yes but wings of a jumbo no I dont think so.

This looks extremely like a frivolous question.
Aside from the fact that there aren't any outside mirrors on jumbo jets, they wouldn't be of any use any way.
Pilots of jumbo aircraft don't do any cleaning or servicing - it isn't their job.

But just to let you know, they can open the window and climb out to the ground on a rope, if they need to.

Pilots are far too busy drinking coffee to clean their mirrors, Anyway, if a Jumbo jet cut you up would you argue?

The line Mechanic has to do it on the "Before flight Servicing" (well, the windscreens/transparencies, as there aren't any wing mirrors on aircraft, in some of the older military aircraft they have internal rear view mirrors, like in a car.). I've done this before, and if they're not perfect, the aircrew grumble.

They send the smallest flight attendant into the hell hole. Who cares if the gear is down... Funny thing is the side windows actually open. Imagine being a passenger and seeing a pilot out crawling across the wing, with a 30 foot emergency ladder whipping around in the wind. Then he wipes at the cowel and crawls back to the ladder and back into the cockpit...

There is a small hatch at the side of each wing mirror, which he opens to clean them

Fighter aircraft were the only ones fitted with a rear view mirror so they could see if anyone was behind them in a dog fight.

Goose, why would a plane need mirrors? Especially a jumbo, do you think it is going to be overtaken by a Cessna?

Why would a jumbo want or need wing mirrors? Cant see him being pulled up by police, or making sure no one is overtaking when he vears right! Although them cyclists appear everywhere..........hmmmmmmm
