Is it at all possible that someone is laughing at us, while we spread our military might all over the world, leaving us here in the United States at the mercy of little or no defense on the homefront?

Yes, it is God who laughs at us while we murder unborn babies, declare legal the ability to farm embryos for their stem cells, declare marriage something He didn't ordain between same sex couples, take his name out of our history textbooks and outlaw prayer and public displays of faith. It is God who laughs at the might we think we have while he removes his hand of protection from our nation allowing it to be touched by terrorism and leaving it open for worse atrocities than 9/11 just waiting to happen. It's certainly not a democratic polilitcal view that is going to protect us while they try to make peace with deceitful terrorist Palestinians like they did with the Oslo agreement. They will just make some peace pact - and the next day they will bomb us. I wouldn't be suprised if the next nuke lands right here.

try googling your question before asking. You have no idea of how many are in the military. We have 5 armed forces and at least 4 of them have reserves. I think the Coast Guard is the smallest unit of the armed forces. And from some of the other answers, the right to bear arms is so we can take out our own Government if they try to turn it to a dictatorship. As for the Bible pounder, we are the Eagle. In the Bible, the Eagles feathers are plucked, but the heart of a man is given to it. That heart of a man is JESUS. Anyway. I am not scared.

not only do we have a large bulk of our military at home, many people forget the natural greatets advantage to our defense. two oceans the enemy would have to come across either the pacific or the atlantic. now this would have to happen for any conceviable invasion of our country. now they would have to cross either ocean and face the largest most powerful navy on the face of the earth. no other nation has carriers as large or far ranging as ours, they dont have the merchant marine capacity to move the tons and tons of supplies, or the destroyers and cruisers needed to adequatley protect this make belive fleet.

not only is are the borders with us but with satellite telemtry and and round the clock radar watch from Norad an airborne invasion is even more improbable (plus they would not be able to launch any heavy units using airborne tactics) and with the survelance capacity of the united states we would be abke ti detect any building threats. this country has 300 million plus citizens and i guarentee that those citzens would raise up and cause major problems for any enemy that would even make it to our shores

The Coast Guard is a good organization they do a lot of good right here in the USA so you will get a lot of satisfaction out of being a member. Go for it I'm sure you can handle it.

The United States Army, Marines, Navy, Air Force, and Coast Guard. If somehow those were overwhelmed, the alphabet agencies and police forces. If in dire circumstances, those weren't enough, the millions of NRA members...

Worry not, we're very secure...
