Air Canada is a National joke. The federal government bails them out all the time so smaller areas of the country can be served by an airline that is notorious for delays, breakdowns and lost luggage, not to mention, rude service and tasteless food. For an enjoyable flight within Canada, check out the WestJet website. Great service, great price.

Generally, this airline is very professional and reliable. However, as with so very many other airlines, management has ruthlessly cut costs and reduced services.

If you are ever traveling on its short-hole subsidiary, Jazz, there is the distinct possibility that your luggage will not make it to your destination with you. This is because the Bombardier Regional Jets that the airline operates into many medium-sized cities have very small cargo bays. Because of this, luggage often seems to get left behind and has to be forwarded later to passengers, sometimes in their hotels or homes. It's an unbelievable inconvenience, it is true, but this is balanced by the airline's excellent reputation for safety. You get what you pay for!

Not good, but not as horrible as some airlines from the united states. Their seats are very dated on most of their aircraft (except several who have new seats installed). Their food is average and their service, well it's quite hard to find a smile when you look at their flight attendants or airport workers. Usually, your flight will be uneventful but if you're unlucky, you'll encounter delays, rude employees and every aspect of your flight can be very terrible. Overall, an average airline. If your expectations are not very high, then you should find it ok.

Btw, non-alcoholic drinks are free on all of their flights. On flights within North America, meals are not offered in Economy class, but you can purchase food on board.

Air Canada, due to its history, has a very bad reputation with many Canadians manly over the government's financial bail-outs. As for flying with them, they've had to compete with WestJet and lower fares, and cut back on some of the luxuries. Like WestJet, non-alcoholic drinks are free, but food is not. Some of their planes are starting to include personal entertainment consoles on the head rests, but they are few and far between right now. Check out http://www.aircanada.com/en/travelinfo/destinations/simplifiedfare.html to see what is included and what isn't with their muliple different fare 'levels'.

I flew to Europe on Air Canada and it was fine. It wasn't as nice as Continental or United, but it was on the same level with US Airways. They were able to accomodate my vegetarian diet and showed movies on the way to Europe.

They're not bad. I've flown with them a couple times. I only fly westjet now. They have the tv's in the back of every seat now.
