I'm an LDS woman, pregnant with my first child in fact. I don't know what their religion is, but I can help you know the official church standing of birth control and having children. Yes, traditionally LDS families are larger than most, but it's not an official rule of the church for them to be that way.
The basic rule of thumbs in our religion is that you shouldn't avoid having children for selfish reasons. Obviously there are plenty of non-selfish reasons to avoid pregnancy out there (financial, physical and emotional health). It's more on the level of don't put that boat, or big house on the hill, as a higher priority than a child.
The church leaves it up to individual couples to prayerfully decide the size of their family, and puts no limitations of contraceptive methods.
Honestly, I don't know if I'll have any more kids than this one, I've got some minor back and knee problems, and we're just not sure how well I can handle the weight of pregnancy and the chasing of toddlers - so we're watching this one carefully to see how it goes before we make any decisions.
Hope that helps.

I'd say strict Catholics actually have more children then Mormons, because they are against birth control. Mormons on the other hand are taught to practice smart family planning and not have children unless they are capable of providing for all of their needs, etc. Additionally, both men and women are encouraged to get an education. So, no, Mormons aren't taught to have a lot of kids, but having children is sacred as it is the closest thing to godliness one can engage in during this mortal life. But, they are also taught to be smart and plan.

i've got self belief they are Christian, the denomination i'm uncertain. it must be many distinctive branches or they might purely a life without all of the failings that some human beings think of is important, like Quakers. besides with sixteen siblings there is often something to do, somebody to play with and not lots choose for television.

Yeah I was watching them too!! I thought the same thing. I was amazed at how discipline they were. But the kids are very happy I thought and the parents home school them and they go on trips. I don't think the older ones miss out on their chid hood. Their parents give them so much to see and learn. They amazes me all the time.

I thought they were Traditional Catholic, belonging to the Society of St. Pius X. That cult is filled with huge families like that.
Say what you want, and I would never have that many kids, but did anyone notice that they all looked really happy?

I don't know if they are LDS or not. The web-site dosn't say. No rule on LDS women having children. Not all women can get pregnant.
