I've already been through the whole backyard breader thing so don't bash me for breeding. This is her first litter and we are getting her fixed afterwards. SO...we bred her on the 7 8 9 of december. The vet thinks the 3rd week of febuary but I think 1st week of march. I know the gestation is 63 days so that means at least march 1st right?

They can give birth as early as 59 days, and as late as... oh 67 days, I think. 63 (9 weeks...2 months and 1 week) days is about the average, so yes, I would expect around Feb 9th or so, but prepare for earlier. Also, the gestation period starts counting from when the dog ovulates, not when she is bred or conceived. Hopefully, if done correctly, they were done on the same day, but it's possible that the days can be skewed because she ovulates earlier or later in her heat cycle. Did you have progesterone testing done to determine when she ovulated or was it a guess? Definitely get your baby spayed as soon as you can. We don't need any more dogs to find homes for, there are PLENTY.

If you bred her the 7th, 8th, and 9th of December, she could be due the 3rd week in February. I'd go with the vet on this one! Gestation is usually 59-63 days in dogs, but it can vary! Good luck!

Normal gestation is anywhere from 59-63 days. It is not an exact due date thing, kinda like for humans. It varies. You would be on the watch out toward the end of Feb.

Have her a place set aside for the birthing. A closet works nice as is darkish and private. They do want privacy and no one hovering. I would use a vinyl shower curtain to cover the carpet for protection. Then a layer of old linens, blanket. Keep the linens changed and clean for odor and health reasons.

Good luck with the pups. Thanks for deciding to spay afterwards!!

End of February/Beginning of March - 63 days is the average, but just like any female, we're all different.

That's all I'm saying, otherwise I'll be on a soapbox about BYB...Thank you for spaying her after this litter.

63 days after the first day of brreeding would be Feb 8th. Your female might not have conceived on the 1st day...but be prepared by Feb 3rd.

If she was bred around the 8th of December, her due date is around February 10th. (9 weeks)
