In Malawi generally it is 60% humidity and 40 Celsius degree temperature and there is almost 20 grams of water in a cubic meter of air. Ten monthes a year it doesn't rain. I would help local people to coltivate much more plants for eating.

I once saw a technique used on a science programme, I'm not sure how much water it produced but it's simple. They put a clear plastic sheet over a tree and over night due to the expiration of the plant as it cools it relises water at it gathered on the underside of the sheet, the water was then ran into a bucket at the bottom of the tree. In practice good on a small scale might not work large scale

Another method seen on TV in another high humidity area:

Erect a fine netting up between two upright poles, have a drain gully underneath the net.

The water vapour collects on the nets, cools to water (if i remember correctly partially aided by the evaporative cooling of the breeze) and drips into the gully.

Stick a bucket on the end to collect the water and hey presto!

In the program I saw they had approx 10 of these things on a hill.
Hope this helps ;)
