it says tattoos may intensify allergic reactions, exactly how long after having had a tattoo do you need to wait and why/how can they affect allergic reactions?

lol no, no tattoo on the head, just on my wrist. I know to use gloves anyways but just in case the dye is some freakish chemical thing I figured I'd ask...

Tattoos can increase your chance of an allergic reaction as you've already been exposed to dyes. Quite often a reaction will occur when you've been exposed to it more than once (ie, th body has already had a chance to discover it doesn't like it).
When you use the dye, always do a small patch test first. If you've not had a reaction in 48 hours, you should be fine

I have a tattoo on my scalp and I have never had an issue with dying my hair and I dye it every few weeks (from green to blue to red to orange to rainbow to...). I wouldn't worry about it at all really, but if you're still a little unsure do a test behind your ear or on ur neck at the base of your hairline.

Tattoo ink and hair dye are completely different by and by. Tattoo ink is under the dermis whereas hair dye will only touch the epidermis. Because allergic reaction to tattoo ink is very rare if you get an allergic reaction it's most probably going to be the hair dye you're using.

make sure you do the test and leave for 72 hours just to be on safe side, i have been dying my hair at home for over 2 years and have tattoos, i also suffer from major food allergies but the dye has never affected me, but find a make you like and stick to it, the more expensive ones are better. hope this helps.
