What kind of exercise can I do at home to build up my upper leg muscle?. I don't have a bike. How many reps and how often? what else can I do about building muscle on thighs?

it's very hard to build any amount of muscle mass in the legs with out using resistance training.

you can do squats and lunges while holding cans of food etc.

check out the site below and see which exercises you can perform switching the weights for something that you could hold in your hands...

I have the opposite problem where i have quite a lot of muscle in my calves and thighs so i know what exercises to avoid so know what ones you need to try.

squats for thigh muscles, climbing stairs, aerobics using a box, running and brisk walking up hill - both calves and thighs. Do this as often as you can.Yoga is good for toning and stretching out the muscles so they are not too bulky. Try adding more protein to your diet aswell.

Squats will build your upper leg muscle. there are 2 ways of building egg muscles less reps with more weight will build strength and bulk. Using less weight with more reps will build tone and shape.

always take the stairs, and unless it is pouring rain, don't park in the closest spot you can you find. You can do lunges at home, pick up so 5 lb wts (you can get them at walmart/target) and hold them while you do lunges, you can do it while you watch tv. Another good exercise, get on your hands and knees and kick youu leg back.

its hard to build mass on skinny legs, but try exercising on tip toe- trust me , this works, my boyfriend cannot believe how strong my leg muscles are for doing this- and rollerskating!

lol this is gonna sound wierd but i have more leg strength then upper body so when ii rearange my furniture i get on the floor and use my legs lol it moves alot easier and gains more strength

Climbing up and down steps can really help you I have very skinny legs too

good question.. I personally love a girl with thick thighs... and wide hips...mmmm *drool* wait, where was I, oh yeah.... Squats, and lunges will help, scissor lifts are good too
