Other than, perhaps, the success rate in the eradication of neighbouring races... man woman and child.

OK ok... i mean if you believe in the stories of the OT, what is the difference between what the extremists want and what the jews did? both are commanded by their god to kill "infadels."

SPIRIT, honorable fighting carried out by the OT jews??? have you never read the accounts? they killed every innocent woman and child! in some cases they were told to keep the women/girls who had not yet been penetrated by a man for themselves! this means they would have to CHECK before killing the used ones! Now then, your answer also implies that the jewish god was real and the muslim god isn't real. but that distinction cannot be proven. so if you put them both on the same playing field (i.e. they're either both real, at least to the devout followers, or they're both fake) and then draw your comparisons. they both have the same command: kill the unbelievers, move them off of the holy promised land, etc.

You don't understand. The people that the Jews were told to kill in the Old Testament weren't innocent, they were slave-taking child-sacrificing bloodthirsty warriors. They certainly weren't innocent.

I'm thinking Muslim Extremists have more in common with Catholic Crusaders.....or American Revolutionary's.

Considering those were historical events....and the accounts of the Jews from the old testament were taken out of a book that claims the earth is only six thousand years old and that a 40 day flood wiped out everything on earth except a man,his family, and a boat full of animals.

That's like comparing Muslim Extremist terrorists to Sauron's army of Orcs in The Lord of the Rings.

The Jews in the Old Testament were acting under the direction of God. He gave the peoples inhabiting the land the opportunity to leave, but they choose not to. In the Old Testament, the battles were honorable. Islam today doesn't seem to know how to fight honorably. The Extremists aren't even acting under the direction of their own god. They kill their own people as well as anyone else they do not agree with. YBIC

The Jews of the OT were living in a time when that was the accepted and common way of handling things...the Muslim extremist terrorists are not.

so many differences.... i see your point that perhaps they can be considred similar in their extremist views... but its a totally different ballgame... one distinction i can start with is that the "muslim extremist terrorists" view the act of suicide in the name of allah as a positive thing whereas the jews of the old testament (while they did sacrifice indidividuals) did not believe in suicides in exchange for bodies... this is one difference, there are many more... but yea i get your point that extremism is never the right standpoint. that's a fair argument to make.

the difference is radical muslims use extreme violent terrorism and martyrdom while the Israeli Jews use the military because they are up our *** in the USA. If not for our 50 plus years of support they would not have the great military and NUKES and they would be the same as the muslims

there are muslims and there are radical muslims

there are jews and there are radical israeli jews

people have always been cruel. Man's inhumanity to man is nothing new. It is just to bad that when men are killing each other innocent women and children get in the way and to hurt other men they kill their innocent family.

Muslims today are very much like the Jewish Pharisees of Jesus Day....in that they refuse to believe Jesus is the Messiah and condemn those who do believe him.

jews believe in God and dont believe that their saviour has come to free them from their enemies yet

muslims believe in alah (i spelled it wrong) and think that killing people will get them laid in the next life.
