I have many times.. anybody care to share their experiences?

are u talking about sleep paralysis. which is when u r sleeping but is concious and u try to open your eyes and move but u can't. well i have and it felt like something or someone evil was in the room with me. i was so scared.

YES!!!! I once had this terrible dream that I was rescuing a little boy from something horrible going on in his house, and I was scared to death. I tried to wake up, I was semi-successful in that I could think clearly, but at the same time I couldn't move, couldn't scream (though I wanted to), and I couldn't get the pictures from the dream out of my head. It felt like I was trapped in my own brain, and it was the scariest thing I've ever gone through. I really was convinced when I woke up that I could never sleep in that bedroom again because I must have been possessed by some sort of evil spirits. Terrifying!

Yes, people routinely become paralyzed during their sleep as a normal portion of the sleep cycle. As another member noted earlier, it is a preventative mechanism a body uses so the dreamer does not act out his or her dreams.

Except for sleepwalkers, we are all paralyzed during sleep. It is a protective mechanism.

everyone gets paralized during their sleep, your arms and legs lock so if you wake before the paralys is gone, you get the sensation your bed is falling or toppling over.

only in my sleep i had a dream that a rattlesnake was about to strike me and i though i was awake couldn't move one h-ll of dream still remember it 40years ago

yes,one time when i was in arizona visiting my grandmother.i was really sick though.
