I have an Aunt(who also is a drug addict) who recently asked if I was following the "right" religion, after she saw a Quran and a book on buddhism on my counter. I did get offended; but I didn't act out on it and simply said I don't believe my spiritual beliefs are anyones business but my own. I then took out my anger on you guys here, by asking ridiculous questions and getting you angry also, lol. I like to spread the love, yo!!!!!!!!!!!

Well it is frustrating when people say that I am stupid because I don't believe their particular religion.

perchance because theist is suggested otherwise to atheist. The atheist makes the ei sound like "e" somewhat of "a" yet i'm no longer completely confident that it truly is the reason. perchance that is real, as creatrix shows, that atheists are for some reason more effective perfect spellers. If it were it would want to really bring about atheist being spelt incorrectly more effective in many cases as atheists use the be conscious theist somewhat in many cases even as all and diverse makes use of the be conscious atheist.

What people dont understand (esp. christians who think they are the only "right" religion) is that you are to search the ends of the earth to get more info on this subject. I do get insulted when my family says that I'm not right with God b/c I'm living with my boyfriend. I'm 26 and have been with him for 10 yrs. today.
And in my opinion, the book they are reading which is kjv bible has been changed so many times that the true word isnt even what they are reading. I think of religion as a bicycle wheel, all the spokes are the different religions and they all lead to the middle which is God.

It makes me very angry when people say that because I don't believe in THEIR God I don't believe in God. My devotion to the Goddess and God is just as deep as theirs, in some cases more so, because I've actually thought about my spiritual path and spent a number of years pondering it before choses which way I would go. I didn't simply believe what was popular or what had always been taught me.

The Right religon is the religon that you choose to believe in. There for if you are following what you believe and not giving in to the pressures of other people I believe you are doing the right thing. As for getting upset about it that is perfectly normal. When a family member questions your beliefs we as humans get defensive. Next time try explaining that you may not believe the same as your family member does but your god love you the same as thier god loves them and that you are happy in your faith.

its insulting when people act as if you are inferior to them if you dont follow the same religion. in america we have the right to believe in whatever religion we choose. so who are you or anyone else to tell us which is the right one? or if religion is even good for you to follow at all. and most religions don't promote hatred....which is what a lot of their followers put out to other people who don't follow the same things.

yes... i am a jew by birth, but i feel that the three major monotheistic religions are very similar in a lot of ways and i have had both muslim and christian friends from a very early age and realize that ultimately, if you believe in one god, its all the same... that's not to say that i don't believe in spirituatlity and self-exploration and all that good stuff, its to say that the big three are essentially comming from the same place and that yes its annoying when one tries to convert you to christianity or to any other religion when they don't know how unnecessary that is. as long as you have faith (whether in yourself or a god), it's all good in the hood.

Following the 'right' religion is one of the ways pascal's wager can be shown to be false.

But asking me to believe in something with no evidence whatsoever is not insulting (unless there's the threat of torture or something like it), just very very silly.

It's usually funny when people criticise my lack of faith in the "right" religion, because 99.9% of them don't know anything about other religions, much less about mine.

They frustrate me, but I'm past being insulted. I have to consider the narrow-minded source of the insult.

It's like a friend once told me: "If someone is an idiot, they have enough problems without you reminding them they're an idiot."

The "right" religion is the one you feel best addresses your spiritual needs and agrees with your beliefs. It's nobody else's business.
