filing taxes without a w-2

Your employee id number is your SSN. If you are talking about your employER id number, then if it is not on your paystub, it will be the same number as it appeared on your W-2 from last year (assuming that you are working at the same company as you did last year).

you can ask someone in your payroll department....they should give it to you without any problem it is not top secret info
