Here is what she wrote:
Tonight the clipped moon reminds me of your toe nails in the carpet. A splinter finding my foot on the edge of leaving. Autumn has given us these dry left overs collecting against the walls.
Out of the house, two blocks further, and the night has swallowed my shadow. The aftertaste of city lights cast me back down to the dead leaves light in the in-between world of not letting go.
There is one last call to beckon me back...The cleft between apartments filled with each windows open offering. Garlic
upon damp sheets tossing, two glasses toasting. How I try so hard to not find you camouflaged in these dark masses, instead
mulishly keep walking away as you stand.Further your squinting eyes to reach me.

It's her way of saying that she has had a year to grow and she wants you back as a friend. She doesn't want to "find you camouflaged in these dark masses" because she thought she could let you go. And she wants you to want her back. If she was a great girl and you all were just too young, then let her know that you are willing to forgive & forget the past to have the friend she is back in your life. Unless, that isn't what you want. In which case, just ignore her. Good luck.

It sounds like she's depressed and wants your realtionship over. She finds no happiness with you. Like you're trying to keep it together and she's not. Let her continue walking mulishly away from you and don't "squint" to find her.
