And since my HR manager said that, doesnt that means thier not going to give me a larger tax return, cause i am listed as single? However i did claim 2 on the form.

Yes! Your w-2 must match your social security card. However, your taxes depend on your claims and your actual married status, not your name. You could have gotten married and kept your old name for all they know!

Your last name on your W-2 and tax return must match your last name on your social security card, that is right.
But you can still file as a married person, even if you never legally change your last name, that does not change the fact that you are married.

You can go to your town or city offices to get a marriage license, and you change it after the wedding. I do not know if you can legally before the wedding. There is a fee for a marriage license. You also need to change your social security card, and change your name on that. There are also a lot of little things and places you need to change the name, like the bank, your drivers license, and all of that!

You can still file your taxes as Married filing a joint Return...no problems. Just make sure you use the last name on your SS card or it will be rejected.

You should have your name changed but you do not have to wait until it is changed to file.

The amount you claim determines your deductions, not your name or whether you're married or not. But your W2 is supposed to match your social security card.

go to your local social security office, they will give you a form to fill out, its that easy.
