This includes deer, duck, turkey, etc. I own a 12 guage Remington 870 that I mostly have used for clay pigeon shooting and target practice. I don't have many friends that hunt, and grew up in the city all my life. Please help!

Go to the division of wildlife web site for the state(s) you want to hunt in. They will be able to guide you in the right direction about where to hunt and licensing. Also, check for hunting groups and clubs to meet people that pursue your interests. Ducks Unlimited is a good place to start. Learn as much as you can before starting then continue to add to your library of knowledge to help you be successful and safe. I have been hunting for 30 years and I love it. Good Hunting.

Why don't you start with the Department of Wildlife in those areas. They can give you some really great places to hunt and tell you were to secure the proper hunting stamps for the game you are hunting. However, to shoot deer you will need something more powerful than a 12 gauge shotgun

The weapon design you have is well up to game.
In your situation the option sound limited.
If I were you, I would consider any hunting clubs that might be available to and near you.
On the fact most true hunters love to teach others about the sport.
Reading on the subject and instructional videos may also be of some help in just starting out.
Or a experienced hunter in your area might well be willing to take you under his or hers wing.
Just ask and see what happens
Explore all your options.
I hope you the best of luck in the sport.

Don't listen to Mandi.........you can hunt deer with a 12 ga., you just need to use rifled slugs, or you can get a rifled barrel for your Remington 870 and use sabot slugs. The other info above from the other guys is correct.....try all those methods.
