I have really thick, quite long hair and when I curl it, for about half an hour the curls stay in, but then they just fall out really easily after that. I use hair spray or mousse but they still fall out! It's really annoying!

When you are curling each part hairspray it before you remove the curler-and keep it on your hair for a few seconds more than usual while the hairspray gets dried.
Stay away from mouse afterwards, itll wiegh your hair down.

I know your situation. My hair is super straight so it doesn't hold in curls. Here's some advice that my best friends mom gave me : when you're curling your hair with a curling iron, hairspray your hair while its on the rod....that way the heat dry's the spray and makes your hair stay curled and stuck that way until you wash it out or after several hours. Since I don't have time every morning to curl my hair to make it look nice I decided to get a perm.

The problem with long thick hair is the weight,so it just pulls the hair down and loosens the curls.I would suggest getting some layers put in and the layers will keep the curl more and you dont really notice underneath has dropped as much.Top tip too!if you spray each section you are about to curl with hairspray they tend not to drop as much, then put your head upside down and spray again to get the underneath.Good Luck!

Dont wash your hair the same day you want the style, styles stay in a little longer in day after hair. Use lots of mouse while wet and dry as normal. Use a hard hold spray before and after setting each curl and then shake out curls while finishing with a super hold spray such as freeze and shine by paul mitchell works great!

my hair is pratically dead straight and when ever i curl my hair it comes out with in half an hour so the best thing to do would be do rag your hair.

ragging takes quite along time and patience so do it the night before

1.) wash and condition your hair and towel dry it until its 80%-90% dry.

2.) tear even sized strips (j cloths work really well)

3.) Put your hair into sections depending on how curly you want it. (loads of rags = corkscrew curls. Few rags = loose large curls).

4.) if you really want it to last along time then put some mousse in your hair too.

5.) take a rag and tie it into a knot but leave a gap to put your hair threw. Put the rag on the bottom of the piece of hair and tighten.

6.) start to twist the rag up round the hair (loosley = looser curls. tightly = tighter curls)

7.) once you have the rag where you want it tie a bow round it to keep it in place.

8.) repeat round your whole head then spritz with a little bit of hair spray.

9.) go to bed and in the morning your have lovely curls thats will stay in place!

Get a loose body wave. It won't frizz your hair, and usually works well.
