I know I didn't receive more than 7k and I have 2 children. Even though Ididn't technically work, do I still receive the EITC since they still collected taxes on my UE?

Unemployment compensation does not qualify as earned income for purposes of the EITC. The fact it is taxable doesn't matter.

If it's the only income you had for the entire year you are not eligible for the EITC. If you had other earned income during the year THAT income would be eligible for the EITC.

Unemployment would not count quantity for EITC. you need to have wages or self-employment income. Assuming which you paid training in 2006, you may nonetheless acquire the education credit. in case you're considered in default on the loans however, the IRS will save any refunds.

If you did not work the entire year and had no EARNED income yiou are NOT entitled to the EARNED Income Credit.
