I am 8 weeks pregnant. Have had light spotting for the last week. On and off. My doctors office is taking FOREVER to respond! Is this ok?

Either you are having a bit of normal bleeding that happens when you have sex or just other unknown reasons. However, you need an ultrasound - did they find a heartbeat yet? If you haven't had an ultrasound - now is the time. You could have a blighted ovum where a sac develops but no baby is in there. That happened to me once and I had light bleeding that started in week 7 or 8 - the miscarrige didn't complete until week 12 but I found out on ultrasound at week 9 that there was no embryo in there but my hormone levels were quite high so they thought there was a chance maybe I was wrong about the date and the baby hadn't devleoped yet - so they call that a threatened miscarriage. But everything could be fine too but your doctor should be responding to you right away - I'd get on the phone and ask for that ultrasound for your peace of mind! If the bleeding increases - go to the ER - they will do an ultrasound.

I understand your worry. Light spotting at 8 weeks pregnant is very common, though. I have had it with all of my pregnancies. They do say that it could be a sign of early miscarriage, but I also know that they say as long as it's not bright red, heavy with clotting you should be okay.

I would still talk to the doctor to see what they say. They will probably want you to come in, just to make sure that all is well. Just take it easy until you hear back.

I had light pink spotting with my first and it turned into a miscarriage. With my second and now third pregnancies I had light pink spotting and I have a happy 16 month old and am 34 weeks pregnant.

Really no one can tell you it is okay or not, but your doctor.

I was told that spotting is OK as long as its light and doesn't happen a lot....If its a deep red color and your feeling cramps your most likely going to have a miscarriage

its not ok your doctors office is taking forever to respond ! if they treat you this way then find another one. go to the emergency room, it may be nothing but don't risk yours or your baby's health.

It can be normal but the best thing to do to be safe is to go to the doctor.

Spoting is ok at that stage. I got that to. Just that it easy. You should be off your feet and resting.
