what about Russians? They come here legally most the time because our government gives them vouchers for cars, houses, free food, medical care, schooling. In college we did a survey and more than half the students in my class were Russians. All of them said the government was paying for them to go to school. I work next to a Salvation Army and 75% of the people that go in there are Russian. I have nothing against Russians but I never see anyone on here complaining. Yes some of them do come here illegally too.

Also Russians are not quite. I live by lots of them. What I'm saying is people complain that Mexicans get all this help from our government, look at Russians they get more help then anyone.

the mexicans are easier to point out. just like in WW2 the japanese were visibly different,so they were the biggest target of the camps. but complaining here won't change it. it is only attempts to spread hate.

There is the key word in your statement! They come here legally!!! It's not right that foreigns end up with more benefits then Americans. Those benefits need to be cut out period. But they are here legally meaning they passed all the requirements including here is the big one (health test)!! TB FREE. I am not saying illegal immigrants all have TB I am saying they were not tested and currently there is a major outbreak going on.
All illegal be it mexican, russian or anyother nationality is illegal and need to be deported for the health of America!

What about the Russians? As long as they are here legally, I have no problems with them. Though, I do resent the vouchers they are given,

Having worked in a welfare office for many long years, I can tell you that illegal Mexicans and other Hispanics are down right hated. And even those Hispanics who are native citizens, are looked down upon because far to many of them, either don't know or refuse to speak English. Both receive benefits that far to many other Americans need and are told they don't qualify for.

Something is very wrong with the Welfare system. It needs a major over haul or better yet, abolished all together.

Half of the people in my state are Mexican and half of them are illegal. 25% of my state's population are illegal Mexicans. Everyone else is a small percentage and what we can think of as a manageable drop in the bucket. But when half of your population shares a culture and heritage that is not yours...not the host country and a quarter of your population (or more) is illegal and militant about it, it makes an impact. I like the ones that integrate, pay their way, treat us with kindness, work hard, etc and have every reason to worry about those that don't. I've come across a dozen Russian and Armenian immigrants that scared me. Compare that to the thousands of Mexicans surrounding me alone. Big huge difference.

If they are here legally, I have no problem with them. More Mexicans come legally than from any other country and I am not concerned with them either (except I think immigration should be limited going FORWARD to what our schools and services can adequately support.)

If they are here illegally, everything I said about illegals applies to them. I am an equal opportunity opposer.

edit - the point isn't how much help they get. The point is that they have no right to the help they get because they are here illegally. It is one thing to choose to give something to someone. It is another to have that taken from you.

People aren't complaining about immigrants, they are complaining about ILLEGAL immigrants. So the Russians - despite being "given" vouchers - are not the problem. The problem is the people coming into our country illegally. Also, I don't live in an area with a high Russian immigrant population, I wonder if that is specific to your region?

Mexicans are everywhere, I've seen very few Russians. Most illegal immigrants are from Mexico, very few are Russians, might be that its a long walk here , and from what I've been told only 1 guy in all the world has ever walked on water.

I think you see people complaining about Mexican illegals because it is a far greater problem than Russian illegals. Anybody that is in our country illegally needs to be returned to their country of origin.

Horses America said it perfectly. Mexicans are the only ones that I have seen that act like garbage and they earn all the hate that they get. I have never seen any other kind of illegal who refuses to assimilate, who constantly disrespects the citizens AND our flag the way that Mexicans do. They act like we owe them. We owe them nothing. If you want to become an American citizen, that's one thing but they don't. They just want all of the handouts that our government can give them.

Also, Mexicans are the only people I have ever seen who can't seem to remember that they ARE NOT in their original homeland. They can't figure out that this is America, not Amexico.

You did say they were here legally. Some maybe illegally. At your one particular college. We aren't talking about "a few" in one college town causing a NATIONAL problem. We're talking MILLIONS across this country who are definately here illegally. I'd be worried if illegal Russians were comming in and overtaking cities and demanding the Russian language as well. I'd be mad if MILLIONS of Poles were comming here, burning our flag and speaking Polish and making demands. Race isn't the deal here. Poles are causing similar problems in England. They're white. It's the huge amount in a short period of time and non- assimilation and not legally.

The key word here is "Illegal". And the controversy applies to anyone entering the country illegally. I think the Mexican illegals draw the most attention because they are the most visible and widely publisized, but no one has the right to break the law no matter where they are from.
