well i need a good trainer but i would like it close where i live.well i live in Shelby Michigan.So please if someone knows of trainer near Shelby.I need to trained my dog.Thanks

Call the vet and ask for trainer referrals. Do a search on the internet, put in dog trainers and your location and you should find something. Also If you own a pure bred dog there are breed clubs you can join and there are training classes offered for nominal fees. You should stay away from places like petsmart or petco because they are not very good. When looking for a training class you should not pick one at random, plan to visit and sit and watch (without your dog) this way you will know if you like their methods and feel comfortable with the instructors.

Petsmart offers classes for training dogs. Just find a Petsmart near your area.

Your local Humane Society probably offers classes. PetsMart does too.

I don't live anywhere near you, however, I just enrolled in the local community college for "dog training". I was shocked to see that they offered this class. Maybe your local community college also offers a class for you and your pup. Good luck
