Again-read the article.

It mentions where the GAO posed as defense contractors and were able to purchase rocket launchers?

If it's acceptable to look at financial records of US citizens......why can't or how is it possible that Homeland Security or CIA doesn't know who's buying our military surplus goods?

Yes, there is a problem at all ends. But how'd the heck the convicted arms dealer from Pakistan was able to purchase this stuff is very alarming.

I've been trying to figure out what the U.S. exports, besides weaponry. Our "allies" are ideologically diverse, consider Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Pakistan: A. Q. Khan, Al Queda entrenched in the military, Taliban staging areas and nemesis to India. Saudi Arabia, Usama bin Ladin and the 911 crews and the Wahhabi. Saudi Arabia's ruling family and their commitment to aiding the Sunni minority in Iraq. From where are some "insurgents" coming? The Sunni's are the ones who are outnumbered, not the Kurds or Shia's. The U.S. sold arms for hostages under Reagan; so, why not now? Everything has a price, all buyers are welcome.

The nuclear missiles and "loose nukes" of the Soviet Union, are they secure? We behave as children, playing in a game for which we are not prepared.

It is not the 'Pentagon' doing this. Some people bought military surplus then tried to illegally sell the stuff overseas.

I take it nobody bothered to read the full article.

Where is ANY information to this effect ?? What and where is your source ??

Okay... there IS a source :http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,243858,00.html

PLEASE note that Defense ReUtilization Facilities are run, manned, and operated by CIVILIAN Pentagon operation... as ordered by CONGRESS.

Seems to me it's a flaw in the Auction screening process... Iran and China cheating, lying, stealing... it's called espionage.

I KNOW we restrict sales of arms and parts to Iran... that's why they don't have any flying F-14A's and only one or two P-3 Orions.

If we don't build up these other nations' military, who are we going to be paranoid about? The US needs this paranoia to succeed, thus we need to sell weapons we could use in current wars to ensure future wars.
