I recently heard about my high school in my small town located in Southwest Virginia having a much higher teen pregnancy than the years I went from 1998-2002. And also in my regions there's a lot people getting married young, under the age of 25, sometimes under the age of 20. And I know the national average is 25 or more to get married. And I'm not sure but apparently teen pregnancy rates are up. So anyway how does your region (city, state, county, etc) measure up?

I believe the Southern parts of the United States have the highest level of teen pregnancies than anywhere.

Here in the L.A. county the Hispanics have the award for the highest birth rate they seem to start as young as 13

I live in the UK, which has the highest rate of teenage pregnancy in Europe.

Manchester (UK) has the most teenage pregnancies in the north-west, with 74.2 per 1,000, though only a quarter opt for abortions, the lowest number in the area.

According to most studies, teenagers are more likely to become pregnant if they live in poor urban areas. They will sometimes see motherhood as a better option than low-paid work, and will gain status from being a mum.

I think it was 2 years ago when a rival high school in the district i used to attend was in the top 10 for highest pregnancy rates in southern california. i guess that doesnt say much for my school either... because i remember at least 5-7 pregnant teens every year for high school. and those were only the girls who followed through with the delivery. that excludes the many abortions reported to the school.

In Australia, the poorer areas have a high teenage pregnacy rate. Also aboriginal communities have a high pregnancy rate. Here, there is a definite coralation between socio-economic status and teenage pregnancy. I don't know about marriage rates though. My only experience would be to say that the christian communities have a high rate of marriage among younger people. But they tend to wait a bit longer to have babies.

while I no longer live there I remember in my daughter's freshman year of highschool the principal during orientation actually "boasted" that the pregnancy rate for junior and senior girls had dropped to 40%, however the rate of those who were already single mothers (having been pregnant and given birth before their junior year) had increased to 60%...Not much to boast about to the parents of the incoming freshman class. My daughter and I moved right after her sophmore year...
